Hey guys! Been playing Heroes of Newerth these past few days. It's and AoS map heavily influenced by DoTA, infact, many heroes are many which we are all familar with. Just different names and models, based on Newerth lore. If you ever played Savage or Savage 2, it is by the same publisher S2 Games. Thus, many recurring units which were playable in savage becomes that of HoN. But of course, Savage is a TPS and DoTA is DoTA. So, there is a limit to how far that can go. Overall review, it is a very nice game, since we are already familar with playing, it was just a matter of adaptation. No longer constricted by the WC3 engine, HoN is on their on engine and will prove to be superior in the future. That being said, the game is already great so far, though bugs still exists and may heroes from DoTA have yet to be implemented. It is in close beta now and u actually need a beta key to register and play. But fret not, these keys are available from time to time on the net.

Hope to see you all in game. Ign: [PtX]armourine. ~P†XRebith is back!~

Top Lama: “Violent Video Games as Good as Meditation”

The Karmapa Lama, one of Buddhism’s top leaders, has stated that not only does he play violent video games, he also thinks they are as effective as meditation in freeing the mind of worldly passions.

He also professes a liking for hiphop, though is too coy to name specific artists…

The current Karmapa Lama, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, leads a major school of Buddhism, the Karma Kagyu school, and occupies an especially delicate diplomatic position as he is the only major Buddhist leader to receive recognition from China (whose control he escaped from), India (where he resides now) and the Tibetan people.

However, he is a young man of 24, and as such has picked up rather more of global contemporary culture than any of his forebears.

He explains in an interview:
Moving to other issues, I believe you like to listen to hip-hop on your ipod. Who are your favourite artistes?

I can’t think of any specific artistes right now, I basically listen to what ever comes my way, whatever sounds appealing. It’s important for me to stick to my traditional forms of art because I am a Tibetan Buddhist teacher wearing these robes. It’s important for me to maintain my cultural affiliations.

But from time to time I do enjoy listening to hip-hop because it has a very modern sound to it and even though I’m a Tibetan teacher representing these ancient teachings, I’m also a global citizen in the 21st century. Hip-hop perhaps is one way of me being a 21st-century person.

Is that why you play war games on your play station because many might say it’s inappropriate for a Buddhist monk dedicated to peace to play war games?

Well, I view video games as something of an emotional therapy, a mundane level of emotional therapy for me. We all have emotions whether we’re Buddhist practitioners or not, all of us have emotions, happy emotions, sad emotions, displeased emotions and we need to figure out a way to deal with them when they arise.

So, for me sometimes it can be a relief, a kind of decompression to just play some video games. If I’m having some negative thoughts or negative feelings, video games are one way in which I can release that energy in the context of the illusion of the game. I feel better afterwards.

The aggression that comes out in the video game satiates whatever desire I might have to express that feeling. For me, that’s very skilful because when I do that I don’t have to go and hit anyone over the head.

But shouldn’t meditation take care of that?

No, video games are just a skilful method.

Rain transformed -.- so what?

Okay, i official hate the rain. For ruining my hair, for trying to destroy my KR and for wetting me. Anyway, went to Nr Ng's shop just now. Apparently, the W driver is out of stock and no stock came in today, he says restock will come on thursday, so watch out. Bought quite a few stuff today and that's about it. Mr Ng was kind enough to buy back a Den-O Complete Selection for me without me depositing 50%! Thank you Mr Ng =D

You always learn something new everyday. Yee Lim shared some very peculiar and interesting information with me.

Apparently Yee Lim is,

-auntie killer
-handsome (aunties call him)
-smart (again, aunties call him)

That's not all, he believes all aunties, especially cleaners and library aunties are very smart because they have alot of knowledge.

He also told me that,

-cleaner also got hierachy
-got cleaner boss and cleaner minions
-the boss must have degree (at least a diploma and must go for training)

Also, the training has 6 levels.

*level 1 is canteen
*lv2 is toilet
*lv 3 is corridor
*lv 4 is function room
*lv5 is carpet
*lv 6 is management

He states here that it is "bloody cool".

He swears by all ends that he is speaking the truth. How he got into such a deep conversation with them aunties is beyond me.

Cyclone||Joker

So i just watched Kamen Rider W and i must say it is a pretty unique series. With all the fishy detective work combined with Kamen Rider action, there is alot to look foward to. ESPECIALLY PHILLIPE. Look! HE is so cute! HIS clothes are cute. But HIS scruffy manly voice sucks, but that's okay, I still love HIM as long as HE doesn't talk.
Photobucket

Oh if anyone wants to buy HIS clothes, Bandai is selling the official merchandises already. But it is classified as ladies wear

So as promised, i went to find some videos on the different gameplay of s4League.

Basic touchdown gameplay:

Pro touch down scores:

Decent deathmatch:

Chaser Mode:

(the person playing sucks, so wait for him to die and see the kill cam move around for more action)

Apparently there is arcade mode too, i've never heard of it before,

So I was bored at home with nothing to do, didn't feel like watching any anime or KR, so i decided to go play s4League which i stopped ages ago. Man, it feels good to own once again! s4League is a fairly new shooter game which came out in english last year, originally from Korea. At that time, i was beta testing it and there were many connection issues, other than that it was a very good game. Infact, as a long time Gunz player, s4League is a much better game in my opinion.

S4 League - Stylish eSper Shooting Sports

With many game modes such as the classic deathmatch, Touchdown mode and the newly added Chaser mode, you will not get bored with s4League for quite some time. The soundtrack is also great, by those great DJs from DJMax.

You can register and download the game here

If you are not convinced, i will try and find some great videos from youtube, will upload later in the day.

Kamen Rider W(Double) - The W stands for Woman

Okay, so you all know Decade has ended for the time being. The next installment would be Kamen Rider W (read as Kamen Rider Double). Just after 1 episode, the latest toy from Bandai is out. The W driver aka the belt. CU\urrently, Mr Ng only has 1 left! Priced at $110. I'm not really optimistic about W so i did not get the belt.

Anyway, small review of the belt. As shown in the series, they transform by slotting in 2 USB sticks into thier drivers. Now, i have no idea if these USB works on the CPU(most probably will), but even if it could, i reckon it would be 1gb each.

Major downside is that, not only is this belt the most expensive DX version so far, but each USB stick uses 3 of these small round batteries used by digivices (forgot the name). And Batteries aren't exactly cheap. So unfortunately, gonna skip the W Driver.

Journey through the Decade

通りすがりの仮面ライダーだ、覚えておけ! "Tōrisugari no Kamen Raidā da, oboeteoke!" lit. "Just a Passing-Through Kamen Rider, Remember That!" is the catch phrase of Kadoya Tsukasa a.k.a. Kamen Rider Decade. The latest installment of the long running Kamen Rider series has finally come to an end.... for now. With such a "cliffhangerific" ending, the true end awaits as an epic movie which will be hitting the cinemas on 12/12/2009 in Japan. Of course, for international viewers such as us, we will have to wait for the dvd release, some time a year later =(. This will be the 3rd movie featuring Decade so far. It is speculated Decade will span over many movies in the coming years. Farwell Decade, I will take charge of your Pink and Black glory for now! Next, on with Kamen Rider W.

Weiβ Schwarz TCG

Weiβ Schwarz Trading Card Game, the latest craze for otakus is gaining more and more popularity here. I don't really know how the gameplay goes, but i heard it is a rather simple card game. The main eyecatcher is obviously the anime and games characters in it. Not only can you play them, but you can also combine them in a single deck! no restrictions as far as i know. Though the cards are in japanese, you can find out about the card effects online and start playing. As of date, the only english starter deck i saw was the Disgaea Starter Deck. But at anyrate, im going to start collecting when i have the cash. Lucky Star + Fate/Stay Night + Chaos;Head + Tears to Tiara + Haruhi + Canaan + Clannad = InstaWin! *Drools* If anyone already have them, kindly tell me how the game is like and what you think about it.

How much heat can you take?

Hi hi, today, I spent the whole day walking again ^^. Met up with Felicia at AMK station. Then i realised AMK is near NYJC and saw a group walk past. Then i realised one of them was Ho Kuan Yu from MSHS. I approached him waved and walked off. I bet he didn't recognise me at all and still thinking who the hell I am at this very moment. I never toured around AMK before so I just followed Felicia. WE walked abit and went to eat at Sumo House, a cheapo Japanese restaurant. Food was average, but I guess you pay for what you get. After lunch, went to AMK hub. My first opinion was that it looked like toa payoh because of the interchange. Overall, i think AMK is a sinkhole =). SOOOO, we took mrt down to Bugis. Went to OG to get more steals off more Kamen Rider Blade stuff. Then, walked to Sim Lim Square, then to Sunshine Plaza, and then to the new mall Iluma. I think Iluma is quite a nice place, it's big and all but there is too much walking space and too little shops. But the arcade and the restaurants at the top level is quite big. I think the arcade there is the only 1 i know with 4 BlazBlue Machine. Played a game but lost to Iron Tager as Jin Kisaragi =(. Walked to Bugis and went home from there.

On a completely unrelated news, thinking of buying sumthing from Cospa, but I do not want a shirt. Any recommendations?

May your nets always be full.

2 days ago, my Decadrive Belt arrived from Japan and it's damn neat. Been playing with it the whole night and making those fake cards for the barcode reader using my pokemon and duel masters cards. So i spent the whole night cutting cards and paper and pasting. Today, went lunch with Pearlyn and went to continue my million miles journey from yesterday. I was on a hunt for all things Kamen Rider. First, went to Lucky Chinatown Center but that shop was closed, so I made my way to Mr Ng's shop at China Square Central. I had trouble getting there and went round and round, but with the help of modern technology (handphone) and Pearlyn on the computre navigating, I managed to find my way. Now, the moment i reach Mr Ng's shop, I know it isn't like the other shop he has at Wheelock Place (Dolls Inc). The whole place is full of Tokusatsu merchandises. Many vintage collections can also be found. What's more, Mr Ng is a very friendly person and likes to give cute little boys like me SUPER discounts. Bought the DX Leagle and DX Garren Belt Buckle. It was priced at $29.99 each but he gave it to me for $40 for both! $20 off is such a steal! So, i chatted with Mr Ng for quite some time and he said he will be going to Japan soon, can't wait for what he has to bring back to sell. Oh, also at OG i can't believe this but i found the Chalice Arrow Rouser on the floor. When i saw the price tag I got a shock of my life. Usual Price $59.99- SALE $12.00. Hohoho, i went to ask a sales assistant and he told me that is the real price, so immediate bought it. Happy Happy boy~~~ The next thing i want to do is to mod all the belts so it would actually fit adults, (or really fat kids). Also, if anyone knows where i can get a DX Henshin Chalice Rouzer Belt please LET ME KNOW!

So, Please patronise Mr Ng's shop and buy more from him so he can bring in my cool stuff for me from Japan!
